· Zebra G nib units: Compatible exclusively with the custom Osprey converter (not suitable for cartridges or standard converters).
· #6 Ultra-flex and Titanium Ultra-flex nib units: Compatible with both international cartridges and converters, providing greater ink flexibility.
Important Notes:
· Avoid India inks to prevent clogging the ebonite feeds; use fountain pen-friendly inks only.
· If selecting the Zebra G nib assembly, we recommend adding a nib-block kit if you don't already own one. Download our maintenance guide to easily disassemble and reassemble your flex nib & feed as needed. Note: The nib-block kit does not accommodate size 6 nibs; please use the provided grip tool in the kit, for disassembling size 6 nib units.
I added this pen to my Osprey collection. It’s elegant and functional. It’s nice to have the option of exchanging nib units. The one reason I’m giving it a four star review is because upon posting the cap, the clip doesn’t align with the nib after screwing the cap all the way. I tried starting different ways to cap it to no avail. It’s true you don’t have to cap the pen as it’s long enough to write with it uncapped, but it would’ve been easier if they align with each other.
The thickness and the balance of the pen shaft are just right, and the feeling when I hold it is also very good. I chose Ultra Flex Nib, but it is not too soft and has a certain stiffness, and the pen point also opens well. It is the best one for me.
I’m always drawn to red/burgundy pens, but this one is so unique. I love the stylish Art Deco clip and the fact that Osprey gives you the choice of yellow or silver accents on all their pens. They also let you add a flex nib to your choice of standard nibs at a really attractive price. The abundance of nib options is such a great feature of Osprey pens. Another is that you can screw the cap on the bottom of the pen if you choose to mount the cap. I loved this pen so much I bought a blue one as a gift. Love it!
